Next Meeting:Twilight Drags Saturday Just a reminder that the next Competition meeting this weekend, 13 February is on a SATURDAY !! Gates open at 10am, track opens at 12, $20 gate entry, racing should finish about 7pm, we will have some live music after the prize giving and a BBQ for racers, crew etc. The new formats introduced this season are a real hit with both racers and fans. After two meetings of the Fram Autolite points series each of the three top eliminator categories have up to four tied for the points. Bay of Plenty Racers leading the charge. Top Comp has Paul Sattler (Tauranga) leading the chase with his 65 Front engined dragster. Anthony Marsh, Ian Metz (Tauranga), and Robbie Ward (Rotorua) are all second equal with the rest of the field following closely. In the new format, all Competition cars qualify together and the fastest eight are seeded and run in Top Comp. The next eight qualifiers are seeded into the Pro Comp, the next eight into Super Comp and the balance into Comp. Last meeting a Consolation Eliminator was trialed successfully with non qualifiers and first round losers running off. This has the added advantage of giving the drivers and crews seat time with the added pressures of competition. So dont forget, it's a TWILIGHT meeting starting at noon on SATURDAY. for more info call:

Competition meeting two a success. Our second competition meeting of the season again reinforced that Fram Autolite Dragway has indeed found the magic format to full field dragracing. The new formats see all the competition cars qualifying in a combined group and then dividing the qualified field into eight car eliminators. The result is that the fans can enjoy structured elimination dragracing.
Imports take out Dragmasters 2010 !! The Import racing team convincingly took out the Dragmasters 2010 team race, beating the V8 team 24 to 21. The imports took a healthy lead 9 to 6 in the first round which sees equally matched cars race off in a heads up duel. The v8 team clawed one race back in the second round giving an 8 to 7 score and putting the onus on the v8s to deliver in the final round. They managed to improve again with an 8 to 7 score but not enough to overtake the dominant imports. The supporting races again delivered nail biting finishes proving the format's success yet again.
Fram Autolite New Formats a Success. 13 December 2009 The
first competition meeting of the 2009 / 2010 Fram Autolite season,
got off to a resounding success using the new racing formats. Fine weather was also a bonus after the difficulties of trying to organize racing in marginal weather.
